2024-2025 Calendar Approved

The Board approved the 2024-2025 School Calendar with several changes as a result of the feedback received from stakeholders.

The three areas commented on most frequently were the school year start date, having a March break versus a break aligned with Easter, and potentially shifting the division's system-wide professional development day to the day after Halloween.

In the approved calendar, students will start school after the Labour Day long weekend. To accommodate this, the PD scheduled for October 11 was moved to August, prior to school starting for students, and the No School Day scheduled for December 6 was removed.

Spring break is now aligned with Easter and will take place April 14-21 instead of at the end of March.

IGNITE, the division's system-wide professional development day, remains scheduled for Oct. 28. A shift to Nov. 1 would have impacted student and staff participation in Friday afternoon and weekend extracurricular activities.
