The Northern Lights Public Schools Board of Trustees has received a request from the Art Smith Aviation Academy School Council to consider adding Grade 9 to the school's current grade configuration. In their presentation they indicated that this would reduce the number of transitions students have to make, reduce stress and anxiety associated with those transitions, and help to ensure the continuity of supports for students.
To help provide the Board with additional information to consider, we are asking families with students currently in grades 5 to 7 to complete a quick survey. Parents and guardians of students who are currently in Grade 8 will receive a phone call from our division office.
