LTA = YAY!

Deciding which learning pathway to embark on for the 2020-2021 school year was no easy feat. Our family carefully reviewed all of our options, and ultimately chose what we believed was best for our family, given the current and ongoing global pandemic. What we needed was quality education for our son. What we wanted was as few disruptions as possible; certainty that we were doing what was best to keep our family safe and healthy; and most importantly, we wanted the school year to be a positive experience for us all.

The Learning Together Anywhere program has far exceeded our expectations! In fact, we would likely choose this option again and again, given the opportunity. Despite being miles apart, our son has developed a great relationship with his teachers and peers and we have all enjoyed how creative and engaging the online lessons and activities have been. Our son has learned computer skills in grade 4 that he likely would not have gained for a few years - invaluable in today's technological world. Not only are the core subjects covered, but the grade 4 LTA program also covers physical activity, art, and health. They have gone on a "field trip" to the Lac La Biche Museum, and they have had the opportunity to speak with published children's book authors. The program has also allowed my husband and me to see what learning strategies are best suited for our son. We feel happily involved in our son's education, but not so involved that we feel we're the ones doing the educating. Finally, the lack of disruptions has been a very key positive.

To sum up our feelings, we would give the NLPS LTA program a 10/10!
